- Tame/Owned Cats - appointment required. Please call 408-361-6602 to make a reservation. All tame cats must be brought in a pet carrier.

Feral/Stray Cats - only accepted on a "walk-in" basis Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 8:00am and 8:30am. Only truly feral (wild) cats qualify. A feral is a cat that cannot be touched by humans. All other cats must make a surgery appointment. All feral cats must be in traps or pet carriers. All ferals in traps must be brought in with the trap completely covered by a towel to reduce the animals stress.

Kittens - must be at least 12 weeks of age.

Proof of residency required. Non-resident appointments accepted when space is available.

Low-cost vaccinations & microchips are also available to cats having surgery. Please ask for prices.

Dogs - dogs are not accepted for surgery at this time.

WHERE - SVACA's spay/neuter clinic operates out of our state-of-the- art Animal Care Center located at
3370 Thomas Road in Santa Clara.
COST - The cost of a spay or neuter surgery is $10 for a cat and $30 for a dog. Please see the following table for a complete list of services offered at the time of surgery.

Santa Clara County ‐ Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program
The feral cat program
- The feral cat program is open to all residents of Santa Clara County.
- Residents of unincorporated county, along with participating cities of Gilroy, Mountain View and Sunnyvale
- pay a $10 co‐payment
- Residents of non‐participating cities pay a higher co‐payment of $25 for the same services
- Proof of residency is required
- Co‐payment includes surgery, vaccinations and an ear notch for identification purposes
- Notify the clinic in advance to make arrangements for feral/wild cats
- Must be contained in humane traps
The following additional programs are open to all residents of Santa Clara County:
- Tame/owned cats – County pays the first $30 towards spay/neuter services, with reduced surgery rates.
- Dogs – County pays the first $60 towards spay/neuter services, with reduced surgery rates.
- Pit Bull type dogs – New, limited “FREE” spay/neuter program for all males and any females under 6 months
- of age. County pays the first $100 towards spay surgery for females over 6 months of age.
Please Note: additional fees may be charged if the animal is in heat, nursing or pregnant. When deciding which clinic to use, please call them to inquire about their requirements and any possible additional fees.
